e32 squeak

swivel chair

This chair squeaks every time that I’m in it, in a number of different ways. It’s not a particularly interesting sound, but it’s significant to me because when I actually notice the squeaks in the chair (which are there most of the time) I become more aware of what is happening around me and I feel a bit more connected. So, why not use the squeaky chair as an exercise in mindfulness.

This episode caught me by surprise. The swivel chair is an amazing musical instrument that ‘performs’ while I type on the keyboard. It provides feedback on motion and inclination. My only regret is that I was too active during the recording. Less is more when it comes to squeaky chairs.
