winter walk

Snow: it’s snowing extensively here in Ottawa, but do you hear the snow? I bet you can, because the acoustic environment has changed. it’s filtered by the snow and there are activities that are snow related. Crunching sound being on one them but I think you can hear snowflakes falling onto the microphone and many others things as I walk around, listening, to snow.

Christmas eve and I go out for a soundwalk in the snow, not knowing what might happen. Not much did happen, which is typical of this time of year. This sound, recorded in December and published in June, is part of the joys of living in Canada, where it is -30C in winter and +30C in summer.
